Valentine's Day 2016

Monty's is a brand new wine bar and restaurant in Southsea's Castle Road, and to celebrate our February launch, we're offering a special five-course Valentine's menu for couples.

Diners will be served a glass of champagne on arrival, swiftly followed by the first course: creamy cauliflower soup served with a rich braised duck leg ragu, or smoked cheese for vegetarians.

The second course is a choice between carpaccio of Cornish squid rolled with lemon and coriander served with poached chorizo, wild rocket jelly, and tomato jam, or truffled Sussex goat's cheese with baked thyme apple and roast squash finished with sweet pea shoots and apple crisps.

For the third course, Monty's' fine chefs are preparing two dishes: chilli and mint braised shin of beef served with a confit garlic mash potato and treacle baked carrots, or creamy broccoli and mascarpone risotto served with roasted broccoli, herb-roasted breadcrumbs, and a drizzle of chervil oil.

The penultimate dish of the five-course dinner is a peach and white wine sorbet, and the menu concludes on a sweet high with a chocolate orange fondant with clotted cream and a orange and mint sherbet.

This five-course dinner is just £100.00 per couple.
